Description

The Bekwai Constituency Chairman of the NDC Salisu Musa, in is said to be in critical condition at the Accident and Emergency Centre of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital following an attack on him by some unidentified assailants Thursday evening.

Bekwai Municipal Police Commander DSP Daniel Amoako, who confirmed the incident to Luv News’ Kwabena Ampratwum, said that Mr Musa was attacked at Behinase, a suburb of Bekwai.

He said the victim was returning from nature’s call in the bush when the assailants pounced on him, inflicting multiple machete wounds on his head and hands and fracturing his jaw in the process.

The Police have prevented hundreds of supporters of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) from entering the regional office of the Electoral Commission in Kumasi where the party is on a demonstration over the election results.

On reaching Adum, the protestors decided to veer off course and march to the regional EC office nearby but the police in a swift fashion prevented them from doing so fearing they might attack officials there.
